The 'Shortened Muscle Syndrome' & IMS

Nerves and muscles are like an electric circuit, with the nerve representing the wire and the muscle the light bulb. Due to injuries and normal wear-and-tear the nerve signal 'runs down' and the muscle begins to 'short out', occasionally going into spasm. Gradually the muscle begins to actually shorten its length, leading to stiffness and pain.

Many patients report "feeling stuck" or "out-of-place" due to shortened muscles inhibiting normal joint mobility. Over time the shortened muscle begins pulling on its tendon, causing tendonitis, bursitis, and joint pain.

Shortened muscles in the back aggravate spinal pain due to increased pressure on discs and facet joints.

To relieve the pain caused by a shortened muscle, the nerve-muscle circuit must be stimulated so that the muscle returns to its normal resting length. IMS is a safe, scientific treatment that releases these shortened muscles, leading to lasting pain relief, true healing and rehabilitation. It offers a proven option to drugs or surgery.
